In England and Wales, a tenancy deposit can be no more than five weeks’ rent. For annual rents above £50,000, the tenancy deposit can be six weeks’ rent. In Scotland, deposits are capped at two months’ rent. The [lettingaproperty.com](http://lettingaproperty.com/) platform will automatically calculate your deposit amount based on the rent details entered by the landlord. One week’s rent is calculated by multiplying the monthly rent by 12 then dividing by 52.
