When is the tenancy deposit paid?
Tenants will be asked to pay their tenancy deposit directly after they sign the tenancy agreement.
They will be asked to confirm their UK bank account, then proceed to pay the tenancy deposit (five weeks’ rent) and set up their rent payments.
For landlords on the Basic, Essential and Complete Plan, this payment is made directly through the lettingaproperty.com platform. The tenancy deposit will be stored with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) until the end of the tenancy. If the property is in Scotland, the deposit will be stored with SafeDeposits Scotland.
