Why must landlords provide and update their UK address?
To let a property with LettingaProperty.com, landlords must have a UK-based address.
This address must be included in the tenancy agreement (or occupation contract in Wales) so that tenants can correctly serve legal notices.
Under Section 48 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987, landlords are legally required to provide a valid UK address. If a landlord moves, they must update both LettingaProperty.com and their tenant with their new UK home address. Failure to do so means the tenant is legally entitled to withhold rent until the updated address is provided.
If you do not have a UK-based address, our Support Team can arrange for our office address to be used instead. If you’re interested in this service, please contact us.
