Do HMOs require an EPC?

All houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) now need to be licensed. A common requirement for an HMO license is that the property has an Energy Performance Certificate. It is not required for each room to have an EPC, however, the property as a whole must have a certificate. 

An EPC must be issued when a property is being sold or let.
