For landlords on the [Basic](https://www.lettingaproperty.com/rent-collection), [Essential](https://www.lettingaproperty.com/guaranteed-rent) and [Complete plan](https://www.lettingaproperty.com/rent-on-time), tenants will be asked to pay a [holding deposit](https://27075525.hs-sites-eu1.com/knowledge/what-is-a-holding-deposit) once their [application to rent](https://27075525.hs-sites-eu1.com/knowledge/how-does-a-tenant-apply-to-rent-my-property)has been completed. Tenants can only apply to rent if they have been invited to do so by the landlord.   The holding deposit is paid through the [lettingaproperty.com](http://lettingaproperty.com/) platform. Once a tenant has completed their application and paid the holding deposit, the landlord will receive an email notification to let them know.
