What Identity Verification Is Required?

How we verify the identity of global users to prevent fraud, streamline risk operations, and increase trust & safety.

We use Stripe Identity to confirm your identity when you use our services. This protects you and others involved in the tenancy.

What You’ll Need

To complete the verification, you’ll be asked for:

  • A valid photo ID:
  • Passport
  • Driving licence
  • National ID card
  • A live selfie - this confirms the ID belongs to you.

The check takes a few minutes and is handled directly by Stripe through a secure link we send you.

How It Works

  1. You’ll access a secure link by email or in your account.
  2. Follow the steps using your phone or computer:
  • Upload a clear photo of your ID.
  • Take a selfie as prompted.
  3.   Stripe compares your selfie to the ID and confirms the match.

Tips for a Smooth Process

  • Use a smartphone for the best camera quality.
  • Make sure your ID is valid, not damaged or expired.
  • Take the photos in good light and remove hats or glasses.
  • Keep your hand steady to avoid blurry shots.

What Happens to Your Data?

Stripe stores your verification data securely:

Having Trouble?

If your selfie won’t upload, your ID isn’t accepted, or the verification link doesn’t work:

  • Try again using a different browser or device.
  • Make sure your camera is working and permissions are enabled.
  • Contact our support team at support@lettingaproperty.com if you’re stuck.
